Many great instructional videos can be found on YouTube. You could spend hours getting all sorts of tips and tricks for your drone. Get out there and experiment to see what works best for you. To start you off we have some videos from our two favourite channels Billy Kyle and Tom’s Tech Time.

DJI Go 4 or DJI Go Applications

Make sure you pick the correct one. DJI Go 4 is for newer drones from 2017 onwards.

SkyStock’s favourite settings on a sunny day with a Phantom 4 Pro. Settings will vary slightly between different drone models. For new drone operators we recommend starting with automatic settings.

Tab 1 – Camera Settings: A Mode, ISO – 100, Aperture – f5.6, Ev (Exposure) – -0.3. Shutter speed automatically generated (aiming for roughly 1/1000 photos with no filter, or 1/120 for video with ND filter).

Tab 2 – Photo Settings: Photo – Single shot, Image Size – 4:3 (Use 3:2 if 4:3 isn’t an option on your drone), Image Format – Raw, White Balance – Custom 5600k, Style – None, Colour – Normal.

Tab 2 – Video Settings: Video Size – 4k (3840x2160) 50fps, Video Format – MOV, PAL, While balance – Custom 5600k, Style – None, Color – Normal, Camera Video Coding – h264.

Tab 3 – General Settings: Histogram- On, Front LEDs Auto Turn off – On, Lock Gimbal When Capture – On, Enable AFC Mode – On, Over Exposure Warning – Off, Mechanical Shutter – On, Video Caption – Off, AF Focus Assistant – On, MF Focus Assistant – Off, Guide – None, Centre Points – None, Anti-Flicker – 50hz, File Index Mode – Continuous, Focus Peaking Threshold – None.
